Archive for August, 2007

Proof is in the pudding!

We all want to see results, and without results, we find it hard to believe this making money online thing, which seems to be getting so popular. I know that when I started, I immediately looked for proof before moving forwards. Once i knew that the blogger was actually making money successfully, I found it easier to believe his work and words.

In the same regard, I would once again like to show you all some proof of my work. I use TrafficSynergy religiously, and have learnt many little tricks with applying TrafficSynergy to a website. I will show you some proof now, and then explain some tips and tricks in my next article!

Good Morning,

This post is a little off topic, but not completely. When I started the whole website and aimed for the status of web entrepreneur, I put a great deal of effort into my foundations, and one thing I worked hard on, was collecting a list of people who visited this site on a regular basis, and made contact with me with regards to their use of my site. From this point on, I followed their movements on their website, and watched as they grew.

One website which I have followed now for over 3 months is SA Property Loans, written by a South African Bond Organiser. This website is truly excellent, from a sleek and neat design to absolutely perfect content, if you are looking for a website to learn from, which applies the bloggers rule of "Content is key", then you are at the right place. I find myself getting into property these days, and having a website such as SA Property Loans to read and learn from, has made a lot of my worries vanish. The website does not just serve as an information base, but the authors contact details are very visible on the website, and so it is not only a blog, but also a powerful business tool.

Monetizing a website like this, in my opinion, would be extremely easy, content targeting adverts would fit in perfectly, and readers would click on relevant adverts without hesitation.

Thumbs to you SA Property Loans!

  • Celebrities bring plenty of hits!

Websites which gossip, websites which mention celebrities, and websites which talk about the famous always get hundreds of hits. This isn’t a secret really, but how many of you have tried putting this in practice? I guess it’s a scary thought to start a celebrity blog, as there are so many others, but what if you could find an edge, something slightly different?

I recently made two posts: Angelina Jolie on Facebook and Jessica Alba on Facebook - both these articles brought over 200 users to my blog within the first 5 to 10 minutes of publishing the articles. Digg and Stumble submissions made a massive difference.

Why not write a few articles related to celebrities, get the Google spiders to crawl your website a couple of times, and then submit a post like I did. That way, your Google Adsense adverts will hopefully target celebrity content, and your CTR (click through ratio) will be higher, and you could make a good couple bucks in a few minutes! If this doesn’t spur you on to create a website more focused around celebrities and the likes, then either you are like me, and you are too busy, or you are just daft ;)

I would love to hear from anyone who runs a celebrity website, or hear from anyone who would be interested in starting one - it could be an interesting venture!
