Really Simple Syndication (RRS) is a useful (not quite crucial yet) format used by website authors on their websites to allow for Feed Syndication. This allows for an author to have his articles formatted in an universaly understood format. Most web authors these days are using packaged freeware, such as Wordpress, which sets up feed sydications automatically for their website. This saves a large amount of time and effort, and would be what I suggest you use.
Feedburner.com is a fantastic website, which controls your feeds, and should be used by authors. If you want to increase your reader loyalty, Feedburner is a service you should take a look at. Feedburner currently handles over 650,000 feeds, which shows that their services are very successful. The process is very easy, and does not take a long time to setup at all. Load the website in your browser, and you will notice a textbox in the middle of the screen, simply type in your RSS feed URL, and Feedburner, will take over and set up your feed for you. Once the process is complete, you will be given a URL, which links to your feed, and this is the link, which you will show on your website for people to sign up to your feed with. Feedburner also offers statistics for your feeds, as well as a control panel with a collection of useful tools, including subscribe buttons for your website.
Offering feeds from your website, allows people to subscribe to your feed, and receive the new articles the second they are published. With the use of software, a user can subscribe to your feed, and the article will appear in the software, without the user needing to check up on your website constantly. This will also prevent your readers from missing valuable articles. A good piece of software is Feed Demon, award winning RSS Reader. Feed Demon runs in your computers system tray, and checks for muliple feeds on a time based interval, which you may set. Feed Demon is what is known as an aggregator - An aggregator or news aggregator or feed reader is a client software that uses web feed to retrieve syndicated web content such as blogs, podcasts, vlogs, and mainstream mass media websites, or in the case of a search aggregator, a customized set of search results. You may download a trial copy of the software by clicking here.
These days, a website which handles articles, that does not have an RSS feed is missing out in a large number of possible new readers, as well as the loss of reader loyalty. Websites such as Afrigator and Amatomu use feeds to syndicate an websites content on their website, which for an author is free advertising, and well as free back links. I have also spoken about showing feeds on your website using some php code, you can view my article on displaying live feeds from other sites here.

Getting your site well known, and highly ranked on search engines seems to be the aim of the game these days. Back links and search engine optimization are two of the most concentrated on topics floating around the blogosphere, and between website authors.
Today, I bring you another free advertising medium. Within two minutes, you will have another back link to add to your collection. I talked about Blogvertise not too long ago, and it has proven to be successful in increasing peoples traffic. I have received a good collection of emails from people thanking me for the free service. So, without waiting any longer, let me get onto this fantastic new service.
Tagspage is a great place to get an easy, quick and free back link to your website. There are many advantages for this:
Tagspage offers free and paid for tags, both revolving around the same concept of choosing your tag name, and having it displayed on a board with other tags. The Webtrepreneur decided to use the paid service, as the prices were really cheap, and the traffic to the website is high, and I don’t believe in only ever using free advertising to get traffic. The cost of my tag was R336.00, as I received a discount of R144.00 for doing this review. So, all in all, it would have cost R480.00, which relative to the service offered is virtually nothing. I have already seen an increase in the traffic to this website, and the tag has only been on the website for a couple of days! You can see my tag by clicking here - Big red font on a mustard background saying ‘Web Entrepreneur’.
When purchasing tags on Tagspage, there is a wonderful pricing system, where the price changes on the fly while you choose your colours, words and sizes of the tag. I played around for a good 5 minutes until the look and price suited me.
I am very happy with my purchase, and would suggest that you head on over, and take a look for yourself, even if it is to grab a free tag while it’s still available!

The Webtrepreneur has decided that he will be giving away a free advert placement on Webtrepreneur.co.za, under the Paid Adverts block, located at the top right of the sidebar on this site. Currently there are two adverts residing there, which have actually proved to be very popular click through links. Let me mention the click through averages of these two links:
Crush Calculator: Average of 30 click throughs a day.
Get a .co.za: Average of 20 click throughs a day.
These averages are fairly decent for a website, which has only been running for a month. So, based on the above, you can see that getting a link below those two would probably drive you some decent extra traffic. Then again, even if you only get one or two click throughs a day, it’s still an increase, and it cost you absolutely nothing.
How do you go about getting a placement here?
Simple. In order to fall into the draw for an advert placement, all you have to do is mention this on your blog, and leave a comment on this post saying that you have done so. There is an example of what you should be placing on your blog:
“Learn to earn being a webtrepreneur is a website geared to teach bloggers and site authors how to make some extra money online. Webtrepreneur.co.za is giving away a free link, go take a look!”
I would like you to follow the above conventions, using the selected links I shown above, and usage of correct title tags. You may change the wording to fit in with your post accordingly, if you choose to do so.
I will run this for just over a week, and the winner will be announced on the website in one of my posts. The winner will be able to place a link under my paid adverts area on the right, and the advert will run for a minimum of a month. I will not look at any websites which involve racism, pornography or anything along those lines. I will only hold the draw if I receive a minimum of ten participants.
Go on, link back to me, leave a comment, it’s as simple as that!
